Pray a Word a Day--Day 2
Everyone thinks of changing the world, no one thinks of changing himself. -Leo Tolstoy.
I’ve thought about this word all day long. It’s not an easy one. Because, let’s face it, it’s so much easier to think about changing anything at all besides ourselves.
I’ve even had short little conversations with God throughout the day trying to figure out exactly what He wants me to change, or even what He might want me to think about change.
And then, I spent time in His Word, reading and praying a bit more. Here is where I was led:
Romans 12:2 (NLT) “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
Ephesians 5:1-2 (NLT) “Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are His dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered Himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.”
I thank you that you are a God who NEVER changes. Give me the grace and wisdom to see the areas in my life where I need to change, where you want to help me grow. Renew my mind by the power of your Word. Use me in ways that bring others to You.
In Jesus name, amen.
